Guardians of the Scalpel: Securing Excellence

The SCS and its six basic organisations (SGC, SGVC, SGH, SGT, SGG, SGKC) are very pleased to invite you to participate in the SCS – Swiss College of Surgeons Annual Meeting 2025 in Lausanne, from 21 – 23 May 2025.

Motto. Continuing Education Credits. The organisers of the SCS Annual Meeting 2025 have submitted accreditation requests to the following Swiss medical societies: SGC, SGG, SGH, SGKC, SGT, SGNOR, SGPMR, Swiss Orthopaedics, and Swiss Plastic Surgery. Once the accreditation process is complete, the approved credit allocations will be announced accordingly.

Course Day. The traditional Course Day will take place on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, preceding the two-day Annual Meeting. Designed for the next generation of surgical leaders, this event provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your expertise, refine skills and advance education through a diverse selection of courses.

What to expect?

– Hands-on courses and surgical training with renowned experts

– Interactive workshops focused on key aspects of the Core Surgical Curriculum (CSC)

Abstracts. A total of 394 abstracts have been submitted. Thank you for your contributions to the scientific programme. All abstracts are currently being carefully reviewed by our experts. Authors may now check whether their work has been selected for presentation as a video, free communication, or visual abstract. The final allocation is now available online!

Guest Society. For the first time, the SCS and its basic organisations will welcome a guest society to the SCS Annual Meeting. We are thrilled to host Swiss Plastic Surgery (SPS) at the SCS Annual Meeting 2025. A joint session between the SCS and the SPS will provide valuable insights into collaborative expertise – do not miss this session!

Scientific Programme. We are delighted to announce that the Preliminary Programme is now available. The SCS Annual Meeting 2025 promises three days filled with innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. This hands-on workshop is designed to equip specialist surgeons with essential tools for enhancing the training of young surgeons in the operating theatre. The focus will be on Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), competency-based education, procedural training, and delivering effective feedback. Participation in the webinars on 7 & 14 May is mandatory for attendance at the final session during the SCS Annual Meeting 2025. Sign up now!

Social Programme. The SCS Welcome Reception will take place on Wednesday after the Course Day  in the industry exhibition area. Enjoy refreshing beverages and snacks before the Champions Leagues kick-off. After the match, the SGC warmly invites you to the SGC-Event in the Foyer Cloud of the STCC, an informal get-together open to all congress participants, accompanied by an “apéro dînatoire”.

Start Thursday on the right note with the SCS Run - open to all fitness levels. Register for all three free events on the congress website when booking your congress pass.

Surgeons’ Night. Step into the rich history of the Olympic Games! The SCS Surgeons’ Night will be held at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne on Thursday, 22 May 2025. The Olympic Museum will open exclusively for our guests, offering a unique journey through ancient and modern Olympics history.

During the evening:

– The prestigious SCS Awards will be presented

– Enjoy a standing and seated dinner

– Dance into the late hours with a DJ set and breathtaking views of Lake Geneva
